Belle Knox: Outed Duke Porn Star Attacks Piers Morgan For Unfair Interview

Belle Knox is upset with Piers Morgan, saying the CNN host treated her unfairly when discussing her work in porn.

The Duke University porn star, who outed herself last week after she had written anonymously about her experiences having sex on camera, was grilled by the CNN host in an appearance. Morgan asked why Knox — whose real name is Miriam Weeks — didn’t anticipate the uproar her outing may have caused, to which she took offense.

Belle Knox said the interview was unfair.

“We’re really caught in this catch-22: if I was a girl who was doing porn and I was not going to school, he would’ve said to me, ‘You’re doing nothing with your life, you have no future plans,'” Knox said on HuffPost Live Tuesday.

“I’m in school, I’m getting my education, I’m doing things with my life, and I’m getting criticized too,” she added. “There’s really no way for women to win in this patriarchal society.”

In the interview with Morgan, Belle Knox seemed to have little regret about her work in adult films, saying it was empowering.

“We are in a society where we are so repressed, every single day. We’re told that sex is bad. We’re told not to have sex. We’re told not to show our bodies, and that’s really true for women,” she told Piers Morgan. “To be in porn and to be able to be naked and to be able to be free and have that sexual autonomy, it is so incredibly freeing.”

Belle Knox also had issues with an interview on The View. Though she found support — or at least understanding — from host Whoopi Goldberg, fellow co-host Sherri Shepherd said she it broke her heart that Knox found work in porn was empowering. In her interview with HuffPost Live, Knox said that Shepherd’s comment was “incredibly condescending and completely ignored my sexual autonomy.”
