Horrified Customer Tries On Blood Stained Bathing Suit At Victoria’s Secret

A horrified Victoria’s Secret customer says she unknowingly tried on a bathing suit that was smeared in menstrual blood. Now if that isn’t enough to make your skin crawl, I don’t know what will.

With spring on its way, it’s not uncommon for women to start the dreaded task of bathing suit shopping. As if shopping for a swim suit wasn’t difficult enough, try coming to the realization that there is smeared blood on the crotch of the bikini you just put on. That’s allegedly what happened to one Victoria’s Secret shopper in San Diego.

The unnamed customer reportedly had been shopping in San Diego’s University Towne Center last week when she visited the Victoria’s Secret store in search for a bathing suit only to realize that there had been what appeared to be dried menstrual blood smeared on and around the sanitary strip lining the crotch of the suit. According to Perez Hilton, the customer stated the following:

“[The bikini bottoms] all had the plasticky sanitary strips in them, which I could feel when I was pulling them on. Obviously I left my underwear on, but as I was pulling off a pair of bikini bottoms, I noticed dried blood in the crotch! Not even a small drop – a quarter-sized amount, plus smears, all around the ‘sanitary strip’! It was awful. Somehow that garment had been picked up from the fitting room, PUT BACK ON ITS HANGER, and re-racked where I grabbed it to try on.”

For the shopper involved, an experience like this can be not only disgusting, but down right terrifying. Blood smeared on anything used by another can pose all sorts of health risks. Now, to be fair, things like this can go undetected, especially in stores often packed with shoppers. With a popular store like Victoria’s Secret, it isn’t uncommon for these slips to go unnoticed considering the fast paced environment.

Many stores have the same rules when trying on bathing suits and other undergarments, you try them on over the underwear you are wearing. Because there is no way to monitor whether customers are actually following these rules, plenty of stores have banned trying on underwear and some bathing suits all together.

When the San Diego woman confronted the store manager about the blood smeared bathing suit, she was outraged. According to Jezebel, the horrified customer was simply given some hand sanitizer and a 30 percent off coupon.

“I won’t shop there again, and the fact that they take my business so for-granted that they offered me a 30% off coupon for my NEXT visit (I couldn’t have even used it that day if I’d been willing to) is insulting.”

The shopper has a right to be disgusted, I know I’d be horrified to find dried blood on any piece of clothing I was trying on in store. Do you think the San Diego Victoria’s Secret handled the bloody bathing suit situation correctly?
