Powerball Ticket Worth $2 Million Sold In West Virginia
Powerball player’s all over are gearing up and getting their tickets for their next big chance to win, but in the meantime, Saturday’s drawing did result in a few winners, including a $2 Million dollar ticket in West Virginia.
While nobody won the $70 Million dollar jackpot, four individuals did win big as a result of Saturday’s drawing. The winning numbers were 2 – 5 – 34 – 51 – 68, Powerball 9 and Power Play 4.
The four big winners were from Florida, North Carolina, Pennsylvania, and West Virginia who won with the power play. The tickets from Florida, North Carolina, and Pennsylvania all won $1 Million each while the ticket from West Virginia won double because of the power play.
According to the West Virginia Metro News, it was not immediately known where in the state the winning ticket was sold. While the $2 Million won in West Virgina has many excited, others are still rushing out to buy their Powerball tickets for Wednesday’s drawing
The total number of winners (big and small) for Saturday’s drawing came out to be 485,620 with the total amount of non-Jackpot prizes coming to $8,823,386. So even if you didn’t win big, it’s still recommended you double-check your tickets! Who knows, a small prize is better than no prize in this game of chance, right? According to an earlier report by The Inquisitr, there were 22 tickets that matched four of the first five numbers plus the Powerball.
“Of those, 13 can claim a $10,000 prize, while five Power Play winners will take home $40,000. In California, under that state’s pari-mutuel payout system, four “4+1? Powerball tickets turned out to be worth only $5,616 each.”
The Powerball jackpot for Wednesday’s drawing has now jumped to $80 Million with a $45.9 Million cash value according to the Powerball Homepage. See what some Powerball hopefuls are saying on Twitter:

With this week’s Powerball up to $80 Million, and with today being St. Patrick’s day, stores all over are sure to be flooded with Powerball hopefuls who believe the luck of the Irish will help guide them to a winning ticket for Wednesday’s drawing.
