‘The Fault In Our Stars’ Announces Tie-In Paperback Book

Looks like The Fault In Our Stars is looking to rejuvenate their sales. The film adaptation, which is coming out on June 6, will probably bring more attention to the novel by John Green, or at least that’s what it seems like the publishers are hoping for. The tie-in film release for The Fault In Our Stars’ paperback was just announced.

This means instead of the original cover for The Fault In Our Stars, the actors, Shailene Woodley and Ansel Elgort will be featured on the cover of millions of new editions to be published. On the new paperback cover the two are seen nestling their heads next to each other while facing in opposite directions. Some fans have said that the placement of the actors’ two heads resemble the clouds on the original hardcover.

During our exclusive interview with director Josh Boone, he was kind enough to speak about his feelings on The Fault In Our Stars right before shooting began.

“I still can’t believe I got it. A company called Temple Hill owned the book and brought it to Fox Searchlight. Fox Searchlight hired the guys that wrote 500 Days of Summer to adapt it, and then they started meeting with directors. I still can’t believe I get to go make it. They just really liked my version of that movie. They liked what I came and said I was going to do with it, so we’re going to start shooting on August 26. The book is just so important to so many people that I want to make sure it’s as truthful as it can be.”

As for the new paperback it’s being reported that its film-inspired cover will be available on April 8, 2014. The first version of the paperback will be a play off of John Green’s original, which looks similar to the hardcover edition. The second as stated is a movie tie-in which will probably be the more popular version for young teens. As of right now people who want to read The Fault In Our Stars for the first time, or if fans want to revisit it, you can preorder the new covers on Amazon for $11.07.

According to publisher Dutton three million copies of The Fault In Our Stars will be printed in paperback. In an interview with USA Today author John Green said about the upcoming film:

“I loved it. It’s a wonderfully faithful adaptation.”

As for Shailene Woodley who is portraying the lead Hazel Grace, the actress has Green’s seal of approval. She “sounds and acts just like Hazel does in my mind.”
