Justin Bieber And Selena Gomez Write New Song ‘Unfamiliar’ Amid Reunion [Updated]

Justin Bieber and Selena Gomez’s PDA-packed Texas weekend and boldly erotic yet tender dance video confirmed their reunion and made ‘Jelena’ fans suddenly seem not so crazy after all. Now, word is the couple have penned a new song – ‘Unfamiliar.’

Update: The fans mentioned in the report below subsequently met Bieber again, days after their random listening session. They told the singer they loved “Unfamiliar” and he is seen on film, thanking them. The song is no longer a rumor. [Video linked at end].

“Unfamiliar” is the title of a new song co-written by Justin Bieber and Selena Gomez.

It’s said to be a new composition and appears to be another sign that the recently reunited pair are in it for keeps this time round.

Bieber and Gomez set the presses on fire last week during a whirlwind weekend in McAllen, Texas. The couple were seen “hugging and kissing” at a Mexican diner and during a lazer tag trip. Justin also dedicated a song to the Latina during an acoustic cameo at SXSW, a day later posting two intimate dance videos of the twosome to Instagram before he deleted.

We don’t know how the loved-up songwriters get to the hook. By that we mean, how do they arrive at a money shot chorus that’s clearly going to be a twist on the concept of ‘familiar’ — but we’re intrigued to find out.

Perhaps we should just ask these Bieber fans. They’ve already heard “Unfamiliar.

According to Toronto fan Giselle Mosqueraa,18, Bieber randomly stopped for her group of friends during a trip to the city on Friday, March 14. Mosqueraa later uploaded photographs and messages about her encounter with the 20-year-old singer to her Instagram and Twitter accounts, also sharing her enthusiastic take on “Unfamiliar.

So, without further ado, we’re going to let the sequence of tweets below shed some light on Bieber and Gomez’s upcoming duet.

[Note: Expletives included.]

For the purposes of space we couldn’t include Mosqueraa’s entire Twitter feed on the song, but the teenager did say Bieber referred to Gomez’s performance on the duet as “beautiful.”

As mentioned, there isn’t a specific release date set for “Unfamiliar,” and with Bieber’s legal troubles currently sucking the oxygen out of the Internet an assault on the Billboard Hot 100 chart seems unlikely (and unwise) for a while yet.

For now, Justin and Selena have gone their separate ways. The actress-singer was spotted in New York City on Tuesday, shooting an Adidas NEO commercial as a brand ambassador while Bieber has returned to Canada.

The 21-year-old hasn’t directly addressed her reunion with Bieber. But while the news has shocked many, it has to be said that along their 2010-12 courtship before an initial breakup in November 2012 the couple’s relationship has known romantic moments as well as storms.

In September 2011, Bieber posted a snap of himself and Selena surrounded by six babies, jokingly captioned, “Brangelina 2.0 (sic).”

That same month, Bieber hired the 20,000 seat Staples Center in Los Angeles for a private screening of Titanic, complimented Gomez on stage when she hosted the 2011 MMVAs, shyly gushed about her to Oprah Winfrey and Ellen DeGeneres, penned “Nothing Like Us” for his 2013 Believe Acoustic album and wrote most of his 2013 Journals album about his then ex.

More recently, he reportedly sent the starlet $10,000 in flowers after publicly declaring her Oscars Vanity Fair photo-op the “Most elegant princess in the world,” before making artistic statements about their reunion from Texas.

Amid continual public trashing of Bieber by older celebrities such as Seth Rogen, Sharon Osbourne, Drake Bell and others, damning narratives across most entertainment media and tabloids, and the reported disapproval of her family, Selena is by Justin’s side as he faces criminal charges for DUI and related, alleged assault and a probable charge for his alleged house-egging.

Presumably because she knows there is more to Bieber than just one dramatic year and a half that may have substance issues and/or emotional reasons behind it, and isn’t cause to write his entire life off before even reaching the age of majority. Particularly a young man capable of this, this and more, and who has arguably been dealing with an unfair share of bullying and pressure.

Until “Unfamiliar” makes its now anticipated debut, sate your new music fix with a listen to Bieber’s “Life Is Worth Living.”

The heartthrob posted the snippet to his Instagram account late Saturday-early Sunday and it seems to refer to Selena’s re-entry in his life.
