Ariel Winter Lashes Out, ‘My Broken Family Can’t Be Fixed’
Ariel Winter, star of Modern Family, says she will never have a relationship with her mother and brother ever again. Ariel simply says her relationship with her estranged family “can’t be fixed”.
In a text filed in Winter’s guardianship case, and obtained by TMZ, Ariel was texting her older brother, Jimmy, who has sided with their mother over the battle. Ariel, who is now underneath temporary guardianship of her sister, told a few home truths which included a statement that read:
How dare you say you miss me…if you really wanted to see anyone and cared, you’d do a 180.
Ariel continues on to state that too much irreparable damage has been done to ever go back to the way things were. She apologizes for what they’ve been through, but confirms that it can’t be fixed. The text was filed as a document, to utilize as proof that Ariel is suffering from PAS – parental alienation syndrome – and their family is being destroyed because of the parental guardianship.
According to Daily Mail, Shanelle, 35, filed for permanent guardianship of her sister, Ariel, who has been living under her care since October 3, 2012. Taking to Twitter on Monday, Ariel posted a photo with the only family she needs – Shanelle and her husband, David Berry Gray, and the couple’s two daughters, Skylar and Parker. The group were all smiles as they cuddled up together, with the actress captioning the pic, “My beautiful family. I’m truly lucky.”
A little more than a week ago, on February 28th, Ariel’s mother was ordered, by a judge in Los Angeles, to hand over about $4,000 in residual checks intended for her younger daughter. The ruling came after the actress’s father, Glenn Workman, filed documents claiming his estranged wife violated a court order by depositing the paychecks. Although the money deposited into an account for Ariel’s production company, Winter Sky, Glenn protested because he was given “sole control of Ariel’s finances” as part of the 2012 custody agreement.
Despite the situations with her family and the court battles, in which Ariel’s mother has requested some outrages conditions such as the entire cast of Modern Family to attend, she is doing fine. Right now, Ariel is concentrating on promoting the animated film, Mr. Peabody & Sherman, where she provides her voice for the character, Penny Peterson.
