CM Punk: WWE Return For WrestleMania 30 Hoped For By Hulk Hogan

CM Punk’s WWE return for WrestleMania 30 is oft-wished for by fans of Phil Brooks, and apparently Hulk Hogan can be counted among them.

In a related report by The Inquisitr, Vince McMahon claimed CM Punk was merely on a WWE “sabbatical” although actual statements from the wrestler indicated how angry he was at having Dave Batista take away his chance at the championship belt at WrestleMania 30. Many assumed CM Punk might have shown up for this past Monday Night RAW since it was located in his hometown of Chicago but it was not to be. Still, even though he wasn’t there in person he definitely was there in spirit since the fans started chanting his name and he was mentioned multiple times by wrestlers.

Regardless, Hulk Hogan has been doing his job as a host for the WWE and it seems like he’s using the same lines as Vince. Hulk was asked in the parking lot by TMZ what he thought about CM Punk’s departure and this was his answer:

“I don’t know anything about it. I hope he’s on short vacation. He’s probably in Hawaii somewhere.”

Of course, even if Hogan did know anything about CM Punk returning to the WWE then he probably wouldn’t let it slip so easily. But I still find it interesting how the official theme from the WWE is to insist that Punk is off on vacation instead of letting his contract expire within months.

But it’s not like the WWE wants to upset their fans anymore. Fans have also been pretty upset with The Authority for the way they keep telling Daniel Bryan no. Now that the WWE Network is launched they want as many fans as possible to sign up to be ready for WrestleMania 30, but if they manage to upset fans enough it’s possible their sales may slip a little.

Oh, and Punk isn’t on vacation. His first official post-WWE appearance is actually on a show called the Talking Dead, which follows the Walking Dead TV show.

Do you think CM Punk will bring back some clobbering time to WrestleMania 30?
