Amazing Race’s Third Leg Takes Teams To Kota Kinabalu [SPOILER]

In the third leg of the race around the world, Amazing Race takes the nine remaining teams from Guangzhou in China to Kota Kinabalu, Malaysia.

Two teams have already been eliminated from the race. In last week’s show, newlyweds Rachel and Brendon finished in first place receiving the prize of $2,500 each.

This week, the teams race to the airport to get aboard two flights to Kota Kinabalu. There are two available flights and the first to depart from China were Dave and Connor, together with Leo and Jamal, Jen and Caroline, Margie and Luke, Big Easy and Flight Time, and Jet and Cord.

Brendon and Rachel, who were the first to leave, got lost in a taxi causing them to miss the first flight. They boarded the second plane to Malaysia together with Joey and Meghan, and Jessica and John.

The teams arrive at the Malaysian Borneo jungle, which is the oldest rainforest in the entire world.

On the first Road Block challenge, one of the team members must join the Travelocity Roaming Gnome while rappelling down a rough 10-story high cascade. After reaching their destination, teams then have to build their own bamboo rafts then they have to navigate to the river to their next challenge.

In the Detour, teams have to choose between “Run Through the Jungle” and “River Delivery.” In “Run Through the Jungle,” teams must learn how to use blowpipes and shoot two dummy targets that are making bird sounds. In “River Delivery,” teams must carry a heavy box of items to a local tribal leader.

Dave and Connor are the first ones to get to the detour and quickly opt for the “River Delivery” detour. Other teams who made the same choice are Margie and Luke, Leo and Jamal, and Jet and Cord. Big Easy and Flight Time, together with Jen and Caroline chose the “Run Through the Jungle” challenge.

The teams on the second flight finally arrive in Kota Kinabalu and go through the Road Block and Detour.

After the Detour, teams can then make their way to the leg’s pitstop, which is a floating river village.

Dave and Connor were the first ones to arrive, winning a trip to Budapest, Hungary. The teams that arrived next were Cord and Jet, followed by The Afghanimals Jamal and Leo.

In fourth place were Luke and Margie.

Big Easy and Flight Time were in fifth place.

Caroline and Jen finished sixth place in the leg.

John and Jessica were eighth to arrive.

Meghan and Joey were the last to check in and unfortunately, this was an elimination leg.

This leaves eight teams competing in the fourth leg of The Amazing Race 2014.

This year the Amazing Race brings back old favorites
