Tobey Maguire Sued For $311,200 In Poker Earnings

From 2007 through 2008 Tobey Maguire won $311,200 in poker money from Beverly Hills hedge fund manager Bradley Ruderman and now he may be forced to pay back that money after Ruderman was founded guilty in January of fraud and sentenced to 10 years in jail.

Ruderman was ordered to pay back $27.5 million in restitution to his investors after he admitted to his fraud during an FBI investigation.

Maguire was discovered to have received part of that money when a trustee for Ruderman’s fund filed bankruptcy in California court and revealed that part of the money was used to pay off poker debts.

According to an 18-page legal document the money was won by Maguire while playing high stakes “Texas Hold ’em” in Los Angeles at the Four Seasons Hotel, Beverly Hills Hotel and Peninsula Hotel along with players homes.

The games are said to have included hired professional poker dealers and involved various celebrities, businessmen and lawyers.
