Catching Fire: New Deleted Scenes Revealed


“Catching Fire”, the second installment to “The Hunger Games” trilogy officially went on sale Friday, March seventh. The box office hit is now available on Blu-Ray and DVD and reports state that there are some pretty juicy bonus scenes that come with it!

The Los Angeles Times has released one of the deleted scenes that is included on the “Catching Fire” Blu-Ray and DVD. The clip is a short one, running only 20 seconds or so, and shows Katniss’ arrival at the District 12 train station after her victory tour. In the clip, Katniss can be seen warning her mother and sister of the pending danger by whispering “Pack everything you can. We’re leaving.” to her sister Primrose and again to her mother.

Of course, this isn’t the only deleted scene making its way around the internet. MTV also shared an exclusive deleted scene from the “Catching Fire” film. In this scene we see Finnick, played by Sam Claflin, showing off just how handy he is with his knot tying abilities.

“I sort of tie a noose and I practiced and practiced how to learn to tie a noose in about 10 seconds,” Claflin explained in a making-of featurette. “So I got really, really good at it.”

According to The Inquisitr, “The Hunger Games: Catching Fire” remains on fire at the box office even though it’s been in theaters since November 22, 2013. “Though crowded out of multiplexes by numerous new releases in the past three months, the second installment averaged a solid $1,333 for each of the 240 screens still showing the movie this weekend,” and mind you, that was two weeks ago! The report continued on to say:

“Already the top-grossing film to be released in 2013, the weekend’s ticket sales bring the total take for the second installment of the four-part Hunger Games film series to $423,628,000 — good enough for 10th on the all-time list of domestic box office moneymakers.”

According to Hollywood Life, in addition to the deleted scenes, the Blue-Ray and DVD releases will also include commentary from the film’s director Francis Lawrence and producer Nina Jacobson. “Additionally, there is a sneak peek at “Divergent“, starring Shailene Woodley.” The release also reportedly includes a nine-part, feature-length documentary called “Surviving the Game: Making Catching Fire”.

The third movie in the “Hunger Games” lineup is “The Hunger Games: Mockingjay – Part 1” which is due to be released in November of this year with part two reportedly scheduled to be released in 2015. Are you one of the thousands who have already gotten your hands on a copy of “Catching Fire”?
