Lady Gaga Plans To Rock A Piano And A Bikini At SXSW

Lady Gaga has big plans for her set at Stubb’s during this year’s SXSW. This apparently includes a piano, a bikini, and some beer.

On March 13, the “Applause” singer will rock the Dorito’s #BoldStage at the annual music and film festival in Austin, Texas. Although she originally wanted to play the giant Dorito’s vending machine at the event, city officials denied her request due to safety concerns.

“We look at the size and capacity of the location covered by the permit being sought and how it fits with the anticipated attendance, based on event capacity and promotion. At the end of the day, it’s a parking lot,” Austin’s Music And Entertainment division manager Don Pitts explained.

Although her original plans were ultimately derailed, that doesn’t mean Lady Gaga is planning a less-than-impressive set at Stubb’s Bar-B-Q. In fact, she recently told Rolling Stone that fans should expect something wholly unique during her performance at SXSW.

“I’ve been dreaming of this moment. It’s all about the music and the connection with the crowd, and I want the audience in Austin to see me live in a way I never have before. I love theatrics, but I started out singing at a piano with a Bud Light in a bikini,” Lady Gaga explained.

She added, “Performing at Stubb’s is a real blast from my past, I can’t wait to celebrate with the audience how far music can go when we believe and stick together. It’s moments like these that I live for.”

According to the Los Angeles Times, Gaga is helping the folks at Doritos with a contest centered around the company’s “bold” theme. If you want to attend the performances at the aforementioned vending machine, then you’ll need to jump through a few hoops first. Money apparently won’t get you a ticket to this event.

Dubbed “bold missions,” Doritos asked prospective attendees to perform a few challenges to acquire tickets to their sponsored shows. The first mission involves Lady Gaga fans uploading photos or videos of themselves doing something “bold.” Since that term is pretty vague, folks will have to figure out the best way to catch the company’s attention.

“I believe being an individual and speaking your mind is one of the boldest things you can do,” Gaga suggested in a recent promotional video for the event.
