Cronut Inventor Creates New Way To Have ‘Milk And Cookies’

The creator of the cronut innovated a new way to have “milk and cookies”. Dominique Ansel is unveiling a new dessert at Austin’s SXSW this weekend: the Chocolate Chip Cookie Milk Shot. Just like the cronut, the new invention is a hybrid, but that’s all they seem to have in common.

First revealed on Ansel’s official Instagram page, the new hybrid is a combination of a chocolate chip cookie and a shot glass. The first official image can be seen on the embedded post below.

Details on how to make the Chocolate Chip Cookie Milk Shot were explained during an interview on Today. Ansel uses an extra-aerated cookie dough, which allows him to mold the cookie into the shape of a shot glass while retaining the cookie’s crisp edge and moist base. The cookie shot is then filled with ice-cold milk. Dominique even jokingly said:

You don’t have to be 21 to have one.

The inspiration came when Ansel tried a cookie for the very first time! While indulging in the baked treat, he was told to have it with milk. That is when the idea to combine the two came to him. Dominique even elaborates:

I love a good cookie, and it’s funny because I never had one until I moved to the U.S. This is my version 2.0.

Right now, the Chocolate Chip Cookie Milk Shots are only being offered at SXSW, since they were made for the event. However, these glorious treats will eventually be available at Ansel’s New York bakery where it can be right next to his other hybrid dessert, the cronut, which is shown in the post below.

Let’s just hope the Chocolate Chip Cookie Milk Shots aren’t used in any extreme innovations. The last time one of Ansel’s genius pastries was used to make something different, it did not fare so well. As reported earlier here on The Inquisitr, the cronut was used to make a burger, but this new delicacy is responsible for over 100 plus illness cases.
