Halle Berry Attends Disastrous Fame & Philanthropy Oscar Party

Halle Berry was one of the many celebrities who checked out the Fame & Philanthropy Oscar party last weekend. Unfortunately for those who attended the shindig, the festivities weren’t exactly top-notch.

In addition to Berry, director James Cameron, Sean Penn, and Charlize Theron attended the party as well. If reports are accurate, then apparently the $50,000-a-table gathering had a slew of unsightly problems. So much for trying to raise money for a good cause.

TMZ reports that Halle Berry and her celebrity pals had to contend with party crashers and cold food at the event. To make matters worse, the industry types were reportedly bothered by copious amounts of weed smoke that seemed to drift into the party.

However, that wasn’t the only problem Berry and her cohorts had to deal with at the Oscar party. According to the Daily Mail, folks who attended the gathering had to deal with atrocious and unsanitary port-a-potties. Not surprisingly, some people have reportedly described the event as “a major disaster.”

Since some of the guests who officially attended the event at the Vineyard Beverly Hills paid upwards of $100,000 for VIP tables, they weren’t exactly thrilled that people started to crash the party without forking over some cash. Some people said that things got a little “too rowdy” once the uninvited guests started infiltrating the venue.

The original idea behind the Fame & Philanthropy event was to raise money for three charities, including Charlize Theron’s Africa Outreach Project. Since things quickly got out-of-hand — one person described it as “Vegas on a bad night” — many of the guests who paid for tables decided to head back to their hotels.

Of course, Halle Berry and her famous friends haven’t said anything official about the Fame & Philanthropy party as of this writing. In fact, all of this information comes from anonymous sources and industry insiders. As such, you probably shouldn’t put too much stock into the more outrageous claims surrounding the event.
