Leonardo DiCaprio’s Oscar Loss Prompts Twitter To Proclaim #PoorLeo
Leonardo DiCaprio walked away from the 86th annual Academy Awards without a statue to call his very own. The Best Actor honor ultimately went to Matthew McConaughey for his performance in the drama Dallas Buyers Club.
Although the Titanic star has appeared in a number of acclaimed motion pictures over the years, he’s yet to take home an Oscar for his work on the big screen. Many fans believe DiCaprio deserves proper recognition from the Academy, though it would appear the feeling isn’t mutual.
To show that they have nothing but love for Leonardo DiCaprio and his cinematic accomplishments, fans crafted the Twitter hashtag #PoorLeo. Although it started out as a way for fans to complain about the actor’s Oscar snub, it soon turned into full-blown free-for-all at Leo’s expense.
In addition to tweeting their support for DiCaprio, people who used the #PoorLeo hashtag passed around a series of memes featuring Leonardo’s supposed reaction to the Best Actor snub and the fact that he wasn’t included in Bradley Cooper’s famous selfie.

Of course, others used the DiCaprio-oriented hashtag to remind everyone that there are more important things going on in the world than movie-related awards.
