Taylor Swift Once Made ‘Downton Abbey’ Star Michelle Dockery Cry
Taylor Swift has the power to make people burst into tears.
While it’s not surprising to see several of her fans turn on the waterworks while checking out the singer in concert, it’s not everyday that Swift makes an accomplished thespian shed a few tears. That’s apparently what happened to Downton Abbey star Michelle Dockery at one of Taylor’s concerts.
Before you start telling your friends about the inherent power of Swift’s music, it wasn’t the singer’s tunes that made Dockery break down. It was the encounter her god children had with Taylor backstage that made the actress get a little emotional.
Taylor Swift’s encounter with the Downton Abbey star was recently unveiled during Dockery’s interview with People magazine. According to the actress, she was just really happy that her godchildren had an opportunity to meet the singer.
“The last time I cried? My godchildren went to see Taylor Swift in concert and got to meet her. They literally ran toward her and hugged her, and it was amazing. I got big bonus points for it. I’ll remind them when they’re teenagers,” the actress explained.
Another person who probably wept over Swift is stalker Timothy Sweet. The 33-year-old was recently ordered to stay 100 feet away from Taylor at all times after he sent a series of increasingly bizarre messages to the singer. Reports suggest that Sweet has attempted to make contact with the object of his affection since 2011.
According to TMZ, the stalker sent Taylor Swift several disconcerting messages over the years. He also threatened to murder anyone who attempted to derail their marriage. It’s no surprise that the singer decided to take legal action against Sweet.
“My wife, Taylor Swift (Sweet) and I live in Beverly Hills. I am in love with her. In conclusion, we treat each other with dignity and respect. I will carry a gun to protect her the rest of my life,” the stalker wrote at one point.
Another message read, “Dearest Taylor, I’ll kill any man who gets in the way of our marriage. Message to John Kerry, Secretary of State. Message from YOUR Presidential Candidate.”
Swift said in court that she doesn’t plan to meet up with Sweet at any point in the near future. The singer explained, “[His conduct] is seriously alarming and harassing and [is] extremely distressing to me and my family. [I do] not have desire to interact with or communicate in any way with Mr. Sweet.”
Even though Taylor Swift has to deal with creepy stalkers from time to time, at least she has memorable encounters with fans to help balance everything out.
