Pregnant Woman In Labor Robbed And Carjacked At Gunpoint

A pregnant woman who reportedly had gone into labor was robbed at gunpoint by three suspects.

The car-jacking incident occurred in Annapolis, Md., in the Bywater Mutual Homes community early Sunday morning.

The woman (who had started experiencing contractions) and her boyfriend were on the way to the hospital at about 4:30 am when confronted by the heartless alleged thieves. “The 24-year-old woman told police she and her boyfriend were about to leave for the hospital early Sunday when three men armed with two shotguns and a handgun approached them as they were getting into their car. The armed men confronted the woman’s boyfriend, but he fled and called for help.” The men demanded money, and the car key, which she handed over.

A witness to the robbery/carjacking called 911, and responding police trailed the stolen vehicle until two occupants abandoned the car and fled on foot. They were apprehended after a brief foot chase. The suspects reportedly tossed one or two pistols out of the vehicle during the pursuit which cops recovered. A third man, who fled the scene in another vehicle, is still at large and is being sought by Annapolis police. First responders transported the pregnant woman to Anne Arundel Medical Center, but there has yet to be an update as to her condition.

The two suspects arrested by Annapolis police face charge of armed robbery, first-degree assault, and weapons violations.

Separately, as The Inqusitr previously reported last month, a pregnant woman in New York City was tragically killed accidentally by a snow plow during a winter storm although the baby was delivered by emergency cesarean section.
