Snake Eating Croc: Python Devours Croc After Five Hour Epic Battle [Watch]

Residents in northern Queensland, Australia were stunned when they witnessed a fully grown crocodile being eaten by a 10-foot python.

The epic five-hour battle to the death, between the snake and the croc at Lake Moondarra, was caught on camera by crowds of local people who turned out to watch the snake eating croc defeat its opponent.

The fight took place in the lake itself as Tiffany Corlis, a local resident, bravely drew close to the action to catch some pictures. She said the snake coiled itself around the croc while in the water but managed to keep its head above the surface to breath.

After more than five hours the snake dragged the dead croc onto land and ate it.

Corlis told ABC: “(The crocodile) was fighting at the start, it was trying to keep its head out of water and survive. But as the morning progressed you could tell both of them were getting a little weaker and the struggle was going on, finally the croc sort of gave in.”

She told reporters that it took the snake more than 15 minutes to consume the croc: “It was just unbelievable. We were thinking that the snake had bitten off a little more than it could chew. But it did. It actually ate the crocodile. [Afterwards] you could see the crocodile in the snake’s belly, you could actually see its legs and see its scales and everything. It was just amazing.”

You can see for yourself in the video clip above what a spectacle a snake eating croc is, not to mention the epic battle between the two reptiles which spanned many hours.
