Kanye West Sheezus

Will Kanye West Have A Problem With Lily Allen’s ‘Sheezus’?

Kanye West might have a problem with the name of Lily Allen’s new album. According to the singer, she’s just waiting for the rapper to pick up the phone and complain.

Allen named her latest musical effort Sheezus, which is obviously a play on West’s acclaimed record Yeezus. Since the rapper doesn’t always appreciate it when people try to make a buck off his celebrity status — just as the folks who created “Coinye West” — there’s a possibility he could get a little angry about the name.

According to the Daily Mail, Allen appeared on Australia’s NovaFM not too long ago. During her chat with Fitzy and Wippa, the singer expressed her concerns about Kanye West’s possible displeasure with Sheezus.

“I’m terrified… I thought he’d think it was a diss, but it’s totally not a diss, I love Kanye I think he’s brilliant,” Lily explained.

She added, “He speaks his mind, whether what he’s saying is ridiculous or not, he honestly does believe it and I think there’s a lot to be said for that. In this day and age people are so bland and beige and ‘uhuh, yeah, I love everyone and everything and I like, totally don’t have a problem with everything,’ but he does have a problem!”

It’s honestly a little hard to predict how Kanye West will react to things these days. Rumors recently suggested the rapper was insanely jealous that Pharrell Williams inked a deal with Adidas to develop a clothing line. Since West has his own relationship with the company, he’s reportedly concerned about the competition.

West also didn’t take too kindly to someone creating “Coinye West,” a Bitcoin-style cryptocurrency that used a cartoon version of his likeness. Since the rapper and his attorneys thought it could ultimately cause confusion among consumers, they issued a cease and desist letter.

“Given Mr. West’s wide-ranging entrepreneurial accomplishments, consumers are likely to mistakenly believe that Mr. West is the source of your services,” lawyer Brad Rose wrote in an email to the currency’s creators.

While it’s doubtful that anyone will confuse Lily Allen’s Sheezus with Kanye West’s Yeezus, there’s always a chance that the rapper might not appreciate the similarities. After all, Allen did beat out Kanye West for the Best Solo Artist honor at the NME Awards. Who knows if the guy is holding a grudge about that.

Are you a fan of Kanye West? Do you think the rapper will take issue with Lily Allen naming her album Sheezus?
