Jillian Michaels Admits She’s ‘Imperfect,’ Has Trouble Juggling Family And Work

Jillian Michaels often has trouble finding a happy medium when it comes to balancing family and work.

Although she spends a lot of time training folks on The Biggest Loser, Michaels is also raising two children. Since she’s devoted to the helping people lose weight and making sure her kids are properly taken care of, Jillian admits that she sometimes stumbles when it comes to finding that perfect balance.

During her chat with Huffington Post, the trainer opened up about her professional and personal lives. Jillian Michaels might appear as though she has everything in order, but that’s not always the case.

“I’m hugely imperfect. But with that said, I win more than I lose… The one true obligation you have is to be your best self — that’s when your kids will be happiest,” Michaels explained during the recent interview.

She added, “We as women need to give up that antiquated idea and concept that to be that good mom or good wife or good employee that we need to be martyrs. This is not true.”

Jillian told Redbook back in 2012 that becoming a mother often means that you have to make certain sacrifices. In her opinion, you “can’t have it all” when you’re trying to raise kids to the best of your abilities.

“I used to think you could, but you can’t. I didn’t understand that something has to give. Now friends will go to Vegas for the weekend and we’re like, ‘Take pictures.’ When Lu looks at me and goes, ‘Mama, I love you!’ I go, ‘Fft. Who needs Vegas?'” she told the magazine.

However, just because she’s focused on her family doesn’t mean Jillian Michaels doesn’t care about the folks who are hoping to shed pounds on The Biggest Loser. In fact, The Inquisitr previously reported that the trainer believes the show ultimately failed contestant Rachel Frederickson.

Jillian said she was a little shocked by how much weight Frederickson lost. She added, “Nobody told me, like, ‘Oh, hey, Rachel is very, very thin.’ Bob [Harper] and I had no idea. Nobody had told us. Nobody had said anything to us. So yes, I was stunned. Obviously, I thought she had lost too much weight.”

Michaels added, “I was immediately concerned and wondering how this happened. In my opinion this had failed through those checks and balances.”
