‘The Hunger Games’: Robert Knepper Doesn’t Know Who He’s Playing In ‘Mockingjay’

The Hunger Games: Mockingjay – Part 1 is currently listed as being in post-production on IMDb, and Part 2 is in the filming process. But there is one actor who – even though he has been cast in both films – doesn’t know if he will actually be in either one.

MTV.com recently spoke to actor Robert Knepper about his role as Clock King in The CW’s Arrow. During the interview, the reporter snuck in one question about the upcoming Hunger Games film, which is scheduled for release Nov. 21, 2014.

Knepper is supposed to be playing a character known as Antonius, who was not in Suzanne Collins’ book, The Hunger Games: Mockingjay. He said he read for the role, but he still doesn’t know what it will entail.

“This is a huge movie,” he said. “This is a huge two movies, and I know that what I got is not what I’ll end up doing, they’re so secretive about this.”

And he is right about these being huge movies. A previous article on The Inquisitr stated that The Hunger Games: Catching Fire, which released on November 22 last year, recently became one of the top 10 grossing films of all time with a domestic total of over $423 million.

At this point, all Knepper knows about his role is he will be flying to Paris soon to film for it.

“You’re going to find out when I find out,” he added. “Well, I’ll find out a little bit sooner than you, but I still haven’t found out for sure!”

However, back in December of 2013, The Inquisitr revealed that Knepper would play President Snow’s minister in The Hunger Games: Mockingjay – Part 1 and Part 2. The article didn’t go into any other detail aside from that.

Popwatch, the blog for Entertainment Weekly, did give some theories for his character in The Hunger Games: Mockingjay – Part 1 and Part 2.

One is that he could be a soldier fighting for the Capitol. Since Knepper has been known for playing bad guys, like he did in Prison Break and Heroes, this sounds reasonable.

Another theory is that he could be fighting for District 13. But the article does mention that all the characters with Roman names in the Hunger Games franchise are members of the Capitol. And since Antonius is a Roman name, this theory is somewhat doubtful.

In the early chapters of The Hunger Games: Mockingjay, Peeta disappears. When he returns, Peeta reveals that he was tortured. So, there is a chance that fans might see Peeta’s torturer, and Knepper could be that person.

The last theory is that Knepper could be Katniss’ dad. But Phillip Troy Linger already played that role, albeit briefly, in the first Hunger Games film. So, that also sounds doubtful.

What are your thoughts, Hunger Games fans? Who do you think Robert Knepper will play in Mockingjay – Part 1 and Part 2?
