Jared Leto Taking His Mom To The Oscars On Sunday

In terms of the most popular throughout the awards ceremonies, Jared Leto has been kind of a belle of the ball, so to speak. Since Leto has swept all of the awards shows, it’s been reported that he’s also swept a few ladies off their feet, with rumors circulating that he’s romanced everyone from Miley Cyrus to Lupita Nyong’o.

Although he’s rumored to be the ladies number one pick at all of the award shows, the Dallas Buyers Club actor, who’s nominated for Best Supporting Actor revealed that he’s bringing his mother, Connie, to the prestigious award ceremony. It’s a move that Ben Affleck and Matt Damon made cool when they brought their mothers as dates to the 1998 Oscars, and now Leto is following in suit.

Leto took to Instagram to reveal the news:

“My mothers face when @shannonleto and I told her she was coming to the #Oscars with us! :)”

In addition to taking his mother to the Oscars on Sunday night, Leto also brought his mother along to the Screen Actors Guild awards where he picked up his first SAG award in his career.

In the speech Leto made an homage to his mother, having said:

“Last but not least, [thank you] to my mother, the hottest date in town. I just wanna say, thank you for giving me such a shining and wonderful example of the possibilities of life. For showing me the power of dreams and being the best mother in the entire world. I love you.”

In Jared Leto’s Instagram, his mother is pictured looking absolutely elated to be brought along as his date for the Oscars. In addition to Leto’s mother, Jared is also bringing his brother and 30 Seconds to Mars musician Shannon to the ceremony as well.

Back at the Oscar luncheon, Jared described living humbly with his mother and his brother before reaching stardom as a singer and actor. The Dallas Buyers Club actor said of his life with his mother:

“The biggest inspiration, the biggest lesson she taught me was to dream and to do the work that it takes to make dreams a reality. It’s been fun to bring her around, and you get these opportunities to stand up here and say something, and the best part is to be able to thank people who have believed in you for so long, and I could spend every single one of these events thanking my mother. She’s the best.”
