Jake ‘The Snake’ Roberts Needs Emergency Surgery To Remove Knee Cancer

Jake “The Snake” Roberts has revealed that he has a cancerous tumor behind his knee which is growing into his muscles and requires immediate surgery to remove it. Roberts told TMZ that he noticed a growth behind his knee, about the size of a half dollar coin, in January.

When he had it checked, doctors told him the bad news, that it was, in fact, cancer which was slowly entering other parts of his body. The emergency surgery to remove the tumor is set to take place on Tuesday.

Jake “The Snake” Roberts said that he intends to return to Jersey Championship Wrestling on March 14th, whether or not he still has the cancer. He spoke to TMZ optimistically about his new reality:

If the devil can’t defeat me, cancer doesn’t stand a chance in hell! Pray for sick children who face this horrible disease ’cause The Snake will be just fine.

Not only that, but Roberts also spoke about the fact that he will be going to New Orleans for the ceremony that will see his induction into the esteemed WWE Hall of Fame, come what may.

Roberts had a tough year, having lived with his fellow wrestler Diamond Dallas Page who helped him to get his life back on track following a stint of drug abuse. Jake “The Snake” Roberts only recently returned to WWE programming for the first time since 2005, and now seems more confident than ever – in spite of the diagnosis.
