CM Punk: WrestleMania 30 Has Vince McMahon Claiming A WWE ‘Sabbatical’

A possible CM Punk WWE return has fans hoping he’ll show up at WrestleMania 30 without warning, yell “it’s clobbering time,” and proceed to bash Vince McMahon over the head with a chair. But is that merely wishful thinking?

In a related report by The Inquisitr, CM Punk insisted he’s finished with the WWE:

“When I’m done, I’m done. I’m going to buy a cabin in some remote mountainous area and no one is ever going to see me again, and it’s going to be awesome.”

Maybe he can borrow Brock Lesnar’s place in Canada?

The idea of CM Punk never returning is probably worrying WWE fans, so on Thursday Vince McMahon threw more fuel on the fire by saying, “[CM Punk is] taking a sabbatical, let’s just put it that way.” Still, supposedly Philip Brooks is legitimately burned out from the WWE. Yet, at the same time, insiders claim he probably won’t be able to stay away from WrestleMania 30:

“There’s disappointment and frustration, but no ill-will or bad blood. At the end of the day, Phil loves professional wrestling and I can’t imagine him wanting the WWE’s milestone pay-per-view [WrestleMania 30] to take place without him on the card.”

There’s many rumors in the air whether or not CM Punk’s WWE return is just another part of the storytelling intended to drive up interest in WrestleMania 30 (remember, this is the same WWE that staged Vince McMahon being blown up in a limo). After all, there is further evidence for this idea since the WWE haven’t officially released Punk from his contract, which expires in July. Even John Cena says he doesn’t know if Punk will return, but if it’s just another plot then he won’t say, anyway. What do you think?
