Lamar Odom Has Left The Country And Moved To Spain
Lamar Odom has left the country. That’s right: Odom, the now ex-husband to Khloe Kardashian, has moved to Spain and signed a deal with Laboral Kutxa.
Sources revealed to ESPN that Odom is planning on playing out the rest of the season for the pro team in Spain before making the decision to make a NBA comeback. The former reality television star has been a free agent since completing the 2012-2013 season with the Los Angeles Clippers. Lamar could possibly make his debut in Spain as early as Saturday against Valladolid. Lamar is not the only former NBA star to join Laboral Kutxa. Goran Dragic, Luis Scola, Jose Calderon and Tiago Splitter spent time on the team as well.
Odom was rumored to be re-joining the Clippers in November after Doc Rivers, the Clippers’ coach, invited him to the teams practice to evaluate his current game. However, the Clippers decided to go with Stephen Jackson, Hedo Turkoglu, and Sasha Vujacic instead.
Josean Querejeta, the president of the Laboral Kutxa, released a statement regarding Odom joining the team.
“We’re very happy to have signed a very important player who has had a long and fruitful career in the NBA.
“We’ve worked very hard over the last couple of days to make this happen, we felt we needed a boost and had to break the collective cloud that has been hanging over us over the last while so we could get back to winning.”
Photos of Lamar arriving in Spain were posted to Saski Baskonia’s official Twitter page. The captions are written in Spanish so I have included the translated English versions below each tweet.
