Buzz Aldrin Divorces Lois Driggs, Claims “Irreconcilable Differences”

Buzz Aldrin, the 81 year-old retired astronaut, filed for a divorce for from his wife of 23 years, Lois Driggs Aldrin, this Wednesday, citing “irreconcilable differences” in the divorce petition.

Aldrin, who is officially the second man to walk on the moon, married Lois Driggs on Valentine’s Day, 1988.

The divorce, which was filed in the Los Angeles Country Superior Court, marks the third for Aldrin, whose previous wives include Joan Archer- with whom he had three children- and Beverly Zile.

Buzz, born Edwin Eugene Aldrin, recently experienced renewed fame when he competed on season 10 of ABC’s Dancing with the Stars and was partnered with performer Ashly DelGrosso.

Even though the ‘moonwalker’ was given the boot in the second elimination round, his experience on the show brought him back into the public eye and “renewed his energy with the world.”
