Christina Aguilera’s Engagement Ring Analyzed By Expert
As we reported Christina Aguilera gushed about her latest Valentine’s Day gift from her now fiance Matt Rutler. The ring in question was her biggest gift as Rutler asked for her hand in marriage on the day that’s supposed to be the most romantic day of the year. Christina of course said yes, and since then we’ve been hearing about the intimate details behind the proposal and ring.
Now E! has decided to get an expert to weigh in on Aguilera’s new engagement ring. According to the expert, Adelaide Polk-Bauman of Forever Diamond, weighed in on the intricate details behind the ring.
“The ring looks to be maybe be 15 carats total weight. The center diamond looks to be fewer than 4 carats, and the many ‘supporting’ diamonds seem to be set in either white gold or platinum.”
In terms of the vintage design that the rock is framed around, the expert says that Aguilera’s ring “seems to be art deco-inspired.”
As far as the cost of Aguilera’s ring, the expert rounded the price and as expected, Matt Rutler spent a pretty penny on the engagement ring he gave to Christina.
“Depending upon the diamond color/clarity, the number of carats and metal choice…I’d estimate around $40,000.”
As we reported yesterday, the couple became engaged on Valentine’s Day, and the singer, who was once known to be private before Twitter popped into everyone’s lives, took to the social networking site to share the big news with all of her followers. At the time she tweeted a photo of the two holding hands, with hers naturally showing off the bright ring.

According to People magazine, a source close to the couple divulged details about the ring:
“Matt spent over a year designing the ring with the ring designer to represent their three-year journey together as a couple. He has been planning this for a while and was just waiting for the right time — the ring has been done for months. Every single placement of each stone has a reason and meaning.”
Continuing to explain the story behind the ring, the source told the magazine:
“There are nine special multi-colour gemstones that you cannot see. They all symbolize something meaningful to the couple. Christina is very spiritual and having the stones touch her actual skin will emit positive energies surrounding her at all times. They represent things like love, protection and healing.”
This is the first marriage for Matt Rutler and the second for Christina Aguilera. The “Beautiful” singer was previously married to Jordan Bratman back in 2005.
