[Rumor] Mass Effect 3 Getting Four-player Co-op?

An interesting little rumor started popping up today regarding Mass Effect 3. According to a report by Eurogamer, Mass Effect 3 will feature a four-player co-operative mode, but it will be a standalone feature that has nothing to do with the singleplayer campaign.

According to reports, the mode will be similar to Gears of War‘s Horde mode, with up to four players working together to survive waves of enemies.

A separate report from CVG, who apparently heard from “a reliable development source”, states that BioWare is currently working on an additional multiplayer mode utilizing “original missions made for online.”

Take this with a healthy grain of salt for now, but this certainly wouldn’t surprise me if it turns out to be true. Would you be interested in playing some form of Mass Effect multiplayer?
