Mitt Romney: Bill Clinton Embarrassing, But Hillary Clinton 2016 Run Possible

According to Mitt Romney, Bill Clinton “embarrassed the nation” but it’s still possible that a Hillary Clinton 2016 presidential campaign could run on its own record.

In a related report by The Inquisitr, Romney also says the effects of gay marriage in America may take years to be known for certain.

While being interviewed on NBC’s Meet The Press, Mitt was very blunt in his assessment of the former President:

“He embarrassed the nation. He breached his responsibility, I think, as an adult and as a leader in his relationship. And I think that’s very unfortunate.

Romney isn’t the first Republican to dig up the Monica Lewinsky affair from the past. Rand Paul also did it recently and Democrats were outraged, of course. Part of this was due to a Lewinsky sex tape surfacing several months ago and a audio tape had Monica telling Bill she could take off all her clothes. But besides this recent reminder of Presidential indiscretions the Republicans are just afraid of Hillary Clinton running in 2016 since polls showed her winning against any potential Republican candidate… and that was before the whole blowup over the Chris Christie bridgegate scandal.

Still, Mitt Romney thinks the Hillary Clinton 2016 campaign won’t be running in the long shadow cast by Bill Clinton:

“I think Hillary Clinton, if she becomes a nominee, will have plenty to discuss about her own record. I don’t imagine that Bill Clinton is going to be a big part of it…. She has her own record, her own vision for where she would take the country. And I think that’s something which will be debated extensively during the 2016 campaign.”

If Hillary does run then her involvement in the Benghazi scandal as Secretary of State will probably be the primary objection Republicans will raise. After all, Hillary Clinton’s approval rating took a substantial drop at the time and 48 percent of voters blamed her for the deaths in Benghazi, which the Senate confirmed were preventable. It’s very likely her infamous statement where she said “what difference does it make” will be dredged up even by her fellow Democrats.

Regardless of Mitt Romney’s opinion on her 2016 chances, Hillary probably won’t want to run if her previous statements guide her decision to enter the Democratic primaries. Hillary is said to have been experiencing various health issues and after the Benghazi ordeal she was worn out:

“I’m not even posing those questions. I am really looking forward to stepping off the fast track that I’ve been on. I’ve been out of politics as Secretary of State. I don’t see myself getting back into politics.”

What do you think about Mitt Romney’s opinion of the Clinton’s?
