Xbox One Controller Error Will Get Patch Due To Titanfall Beta

A Xbox One controller error will be fixed by Microsoft due to the Titanfall developers complaining about the lack of precision.

In a related report by The Inquisitr, the worst Xbox One error is the disc drive failures, but some Xbox One patches have also caused error messages.

The biggest innovation in the Xbox One controller is haptic feedback, which combines touch controls and good vibrations. A micro-usb port was added for quick charging and the short range wireless was updated for fast response times. The thumb sticks were made more precise, with more porous “microphone” texture to aid in grip. All in all, it’s reported Microsoft spent $100 million developing this new controller, which touts 40 improvements over the Xbox 360 controller (but it still doesn’t compare to the Steam Box controller).

Unfortunately, Titanfall design lead Justin Hendry says the Xbox One controller was a little bit inaccurate. The good news is that a patch to the entire system will help the analog sticks:

“It’s just fixing the controller input, really. It wasn’t really where we felt it should be; it was a little overly twitchy with the current controls. Now it’s fixed. We’re happy with it.”

Respawn Entertainment is also helping Microsoft work on a Xbox One patch for the console’s video resolution upscaler. This is the device that takes natively rendered resolutions such as 720p and 900p and upscales them to 1080p. (The PS4, Xbox 360, and PS3 also do the same.)

Microsoft is working so closely with Respawn because Titanfall is one of the best Xbox One exclusives to be coming out any time soon. Electronics Arts hasn’t confirmed anything for the PlayStation 4, but SCEE brand manager Alex Moyet once claimed the Titanfall PS4 version might happen “in a year or so.” The Titanfall beta just opened up and already fans are scrambling to get in line.
