Achy Breaky Heart Now In Hip-Hop Version [Watch]

Achy Breaky Heart was a big hit in the 90’s for country singer Billy Ray Cyrus. Now, Cyrus has joined up with Dionne Warwick’s son, Damon Eliot – better known as Buck 22 – to revamp the song for the hip-hop market.

Billy Ray enjoyed international success last time round, and Achy Breaky Heart became his signature song. Now, 20 years later, he expects to repeat that success with the updated version.

Achy Breaky 2, is a mixture of country and hip-hop and includes Billy Ray’s iconic chorus.

The new version even makes reference to his daughter, Miley Cyrus, and her penchant for ‘twerking’.

Billy Ray Cyrus, 52, has released twelve studio albums and forty-four singles since 1992. However, he is best known for his number one single Achy Breaky Heart, because it became the first single ever to achieve triple Platinum status in Australia.

The song was translated into more than 100 languages, and after the video was released, the line dance it featured turned the song into a mainstream hit and became a worldwide craze

Cyrus first met Buck 22 when the singer teamed up with Dionne Warwick last year to record a duet, entitled Hope is Just Ahead, to benefit the Do The Write Thing National Campaign to Stop Violence initiative.

Achy Breaky Heart and rap? Sounds a potent combination, but perhaps a little input from daughter Miley could give it an extra boost.
