Ashley Benson Says ‘Spring Breakers 2’ Is A Possibility
Ashley Benson doesn’t necessarily think that Spring Breakers 2 is a very good idea.
Although nothing official about the project has bubbled to the surface as of this writing, there’s an odd rumor going around that someone wants to do a sequel to last year’s indie hit Spring Breakers. However, Benson isn’t entirely sold on the idea.
The actress discussed the possibility of a follow-up during a recent chat with Cosmopolitan magazine on Twitter. When asked about rumors that Spring Breakers 2 is presently in the works, Ashley Benson confirmed that she’d heard something about the project not too long ago.
Here’s what she had to say on the subject.

Ashley Benson also said she stays in regular contact with her Spring Breakers co-stars.

Of course, this isn’t the first time one of the stars hinted about a follow-up to Spring Breakers. The Inquisitr reported last year that James Franco definitely wants to work with director Harmony Korine again. Franco suggested that he might reprise his role as Alien in a prequel.
“I mean, Harmony and I are certainly going to do something else together. I don’t think Harmony really wants do to ‘Spring Breakers 2.’ He’s not the one who’s been talking about it. Although, when we were making the movie, there was talk of a prequel,” Franco explained.
He added, “My character and Gucci Mane’s character [Big Arch] were supposed to have been former friends, so we at one time talked about, ‘What was that like? Let’s make that movie!’ So there’s that. There’s a prequel version, or there’s the version of Alien’s friend or something. I don’t know.”
While this writer was definitely a fan of Spring Breakers — it’s in my top ten of 2013 — the film certainly has its detractors. Even if you love Ashley Benson and the cast with every inch of your being, that doesn’t necessarily mean you’re going to enjoy this one.
