Justin Bieber’s Touchy Feely Fans Killed Off His Madame Tussauds Waxwork

Life imitating art? The real Justin Bieber may well feel as if he’s coming apart at the seams, and so too is his waxwork figure at Madame Tussauds.

The superstar’s model at Tussauds New York on West 42nd Street has been touched, wept over, hugged, fondled, and handled by so many hysterical fans that organizers have had to remove the worse-for-wear figure from display.

The New York Post reports a source said the Bieber wax suffered from excessive exposure to the public.

“With no ropes or barriers to stop them, thousands of fans have had their photographs taken with him since then — but it has taken its toll,” the source added.

At least Madame Tussauds New York had the good grace to sound as if they are going to miss Bieber’s presence in the exhibit.

“It no longer does justice either to the star or to the attraction,” management told the Post, adding that despite diligent maintenance the wax was just too damaged, so the decision to reluctantly withdraw it was taken.

Madame Tussauds general manager, Bret Pidgeon, acknowledged, “This is disappointing, but hopefully we can welcome a new ‘grown-up’ Justin back to the attraction in the near future.”

In other Bieber news, the 19-year-old has changed his name on two of his social media accounts.

The “Heartbreaker” singer is now called “Bizzle” at his two photo app accounts, Instagram and Shots of Me — which incidentally, he also part-owns.

The Canadian made the change over the weekend, retweeting a message by a fan Twitter account to underline the move, while also telling them “Bizzle” would be used “for now.”

Given that Bieber has over 49 million Twitter followers, it’s unlikely the Canadian will change his Twitter handle, as he and his brand are currently battling two criminal charges, with a possibility of a third now being decided amid a PR backlash over criticism of his behavior.

The “Bizzle” change has prompted reports speculating on whether the teen star is preparing to relaunch himself as a rapper.

But, frankly, with the legal maelstrom now engulfing him, Bieber would be better advised keeping his head down and conserving energy for the days ahead.

Los Angeles County Sheriff’s investigators have recommended felony charges be brought against the superstar for allegedly egging his neighbor’s house in Calabasas, California, on January 9.

It’s reported surveillance video seized from the singer’s house in a police raid places Bieber near the neighbor’s house around the time of the egging, atlhough he is not seen throwing eggs. Now the D.A. will decide whether press a felony, misdemeanor, or drop the case.

Bieber was arrested on suspected DUI in Miami Beach while allegedly drag racing with his friend, Khalil Sharieff, on January 23.

The singer has pleaded not guilty to DUI, resisting arrest without violence, and driving with am expired licence. A trial date of March 3 has been set.

Bieber was also charged with assault for allegedly attacking a Toronto limousine driver last December. He is due to appear in court on March 10 regarding this matter. His lawyers have stated he is innocent of the charge.

Finally, the Federal Aviation Administration is conducting a “fact-finding” investigation and “looking into allegations” that Bieber and his father Jeremy were allegedly “extremely abusive verbally” to a flight attendant and allegedly interfered with the flight crew carrying out their duties during a private Gulfstream IV flight from Ontario, Canada to New Jersey on January 31 ahead of the Super Bowl.

It’s alleged the father and son and their 10-strong group would not stop smoking marijuana. This forced the flight crew to put on oxygen masks, while allegedly “harassing” behavior to the female flight attendant prompted her to hide in the cockpit.

No drugs were found on the plane after an extensive search with dogs, but a strong odor of marijuana was detected. Since none of the flight crew pressed charges and no physical contraband turned up, Bieber and his entourage were allowed to re-enter the US.

In a NBC video report, Jeff Rossen said Bieber’s rep declined to comment, but added that a friend of the singer said they were, “hoping these public incidents will make him realize he needs to wake up to them.”

According to FAA regulations, “No person may assault, threaten, intimidate, or interfere with a crew member.”

FAA spokesman Jim Peters said Monday, findings would be presented to the FAA’s legal counsel who will decide whether to press for prosecution.

Penalties are hardcore. Offenders can face fines of $25,000 per violation and imprisonment of up to a maximum of 20 years, although such a scenario seems unlikely.

After reading that lot, we understand how the over-groped Madame Tussauds waxwork feels.
