SUV Crashes Into DMV, 10-Year-Old Ticketed For Reckless Driving [Video]

A SUV crashing into a DMV might be good for a laugh since no one was hurt, but what do you do when a 10-year-old was at the wheel?

In a related report by The Inquisitr, a highway crash in California was caused by a drunk wrong-way driver. The intoxicated driver survived but many others did not…

Police Sgt. Andy Coleman says the mother of two girls left her vehicle parked outside with her two girls, 10 and 12 years old, waiting inside the SUV. Reports differ on this point, but the SUV was supposedly turned off although the keys were still inside the ignition. While the woman was visiting a Division of Motor Vehicles office in the Denver suburb of Parker, one of the two girls apparently became bored and got into some mischief.

The younger of the two started up the engine and put the SUV in gear. After the SUV crashed into the DMV window, it continued to rumble forward slowly. The mother quickly jumped into the driver’s seat to stop the slow-moving vehicular carnage and fortunately no was injured during the incident.

The odd part about the story is what happened next. In Colorado, anyone who is 10 years or older can be charged with a crime, so police officers on the scene decided to ticket the 10-year-old girl for reckless driving. The mother was not charged with anything since the SUV was turned off when she left the vehicle. Even though it was a SUV that crashed into the DMV it’s said there was no major structural damage.
