Remembering Judy Garland


Today would have been the 89th birthday of American actress and singer, Judy Garland.

Born Frances Ethel Gumm, Garland’s 45 year career in entertainment was marked by numerous awards including a juvenile Academy Award, a Golden Globe, a Tony, multiple Grammys, and countless other award nominations.

By the time she was 40, Judy was the youngest person to ever recieve the Cecil B. DeMille Award for lifetime achievement in the motion picture industry.

In addition to gaining international stardom as an actress, Garland was also famous for her voice, which was featured in many films and multiple radio stations over the span of her career.

Judy Garland died in 1969 at the age of 47.
