Nike Air Yeezy 2: Kanye West’s Red October Shoes Sell Out In Just 10 Minutes

The Nike Store surprised its footwear enthusiasts on Sunday when it featured the Nike Air Yeezy 2, ‘Red October’ which it made in collaboration with celebrity Kanye West.

The shoe, which is bright red in color, so suiting its name, was on sale for a whopping $245, but that didn’t perturb fans who snapped up all the Nike Air Yeezy 2’s in stock within just 10 minutes!

The announcement that the Nike Air’s were available was made via Nike’s official Twitter account. At 1p.m. EST those following Nike in Twitter saw the following Tweet:

It seems that fans were more keen than Nike had assumed to obtain the Nike Air Yeezy 2’s since orders began flying in, following the surprise Twitter announcement. A short time later, Nike was forced to post yet another Tweet informing the public that essentially they were ‘too quick off the mark’:

Foot locker was supposed to release the shoe on December 27, 2013. When they didn’t, rumors began circulating among disappointed fans who speculated that the delay could be connected to Kanye West leaving Nike in November.

The Nike Tweets, and subsequent sales of the Nike Air Yeezy 2 ‘Red October,’ put fan’s minds at rest since they had feared that the shoe might not be released by Nike at all. It is also highly likely that Foot Locker will release the shoe themselves in the not too distant future.
