‘Power Rangers Dino Charge’ Heading To Nickelodeon In 2015

If you need more Power Rangers in your television diet, then you’re about to squeal with delight for the next several hours.

Since there’s still an audience for the long-running franchise, the folks at Nickelodeon recently announced that another installment will premiere on the network next year. You might have to wait over 12 months to feast your eyes on the show, but at least you know it’s on the way.

According to USA Today, Power Rangers Dino Charge should debut on Nickelodeon at some point during 2015. To make as much money from the project as humanly possible, Bandai America intends to roll out a line of action figures based on the show’s characters. Prepare your bank account accordingly.

The outlet describes the new Power Rangers series as follows:

“In ‘Dino Charge,’ the Paragon Prisms were given to a dozen dinosaurs for safe keeping by an alien, but they were lost when asteroids hit the Earth and wiped out the dinos. Now in the present day, an intergalactic bounty hunter starts sniffing around Earth looking for the Prisms in order to harness their power and annihilate the world, so a team of Power Rangers forms to find the Prisms first and fight the bounty hunter and other threats with dino-powered swords, blasters, Zords, and Megazords.”

Of course, that description probably means nothing if you don’t spend a lot of time watching the aforementioned series. If you’re not up-to-date on what’s going on, then you probably need to carve a significant chunk out of your schedule to get caught up on the story.

Den of Geek reports that producers are using footage from the Japan series Zyuden Sentai Kyoryuger to bring Power Rangers Dino Charge to life. Instead of adapting the Sentai season for American audiences, it appears the network will repurpose the original episodes.
