White House Fence Jumper Tackled, Was Carrying Two Bags

A White House fence jumper was tackled by US park police before he could get his two bags out onto the White House lawn.

In a related report by The Inquisitr, a heckler of President Obama once made it past White House security and was even cleared by the secret service.

Speaking of the President, Obama was never in any danger from the White House fence jumper because he was busy touring the United States right before signing the pork-stuffed farm bill. Obama was not due back at the White House for several more hours. While the two bags were certainly suspicious they apparently did not contain any explosives or anything dangerous at all (the exact contents have not been released).

Still, the White House fence jumper certainly put his life at risk with the stunt. If the US park police had not successfully tackled him the security measures around the White House probably wouldn’t have been nearly as gentle. Since he was carrying two unknown bags it’s possible the Secret Service would have responded with deadly force.

Regardless, security responded to the White House fence jumper by putting the entire area on lockdown for more than an hour and they even closed Pennsylvania Avenue. So far a motive for the White House fence jumper is unknown, nor has a name been released. Some reports have speculated that “he was just hoping to stir up trouble, or if he was hoping to be shot and killed by the guards” in a suicide attempt. The man is currently in police custody and will likely face charges related to breaching White House security.
