Missy Elliott Fans Can’t Wait For Her Big Comeback
Missy Elliott decided to take an extended hiatus from the world of music nearly 10 years ago. However, her legion of fans definitely haven’t forgotten about the rapper.
It was difficult to turn on the radio during the early 2000s without hearing a Missy Elliott song. If you didn’t hear something she’d released herself, chances are you were grooving to a track she’d produced. The woman was all over the place.
After releasing The Cookbook in 2005, Elliott decided to take a break. After nine long years, the rapper discussed why she dropped out of sight and when fans can expect some new music to come rumbling down the pipeline.
“When I create something, it’s gotta be special, and it can’t just be to throw something out there because I feel like I’m Missy. I gotta feel like what I’m giving the fans is 100% and that it’s game-changing. I don’t just throw out microwave records,” she told The Yo Show.
Although Missy Elliott released a handful of singles with producer Timbaland back in 2012, she didn’t follow them up with a new album. According to the rapper, she still doesn’t know when another full-length record will hit retail shelves.
