San Jose Man Stabbed To Death

A San José man is dead following an argument that lead to him being stabbed across the street from Cesar Chavez Park. According to San José Mercury News, this marks the city’s fifth homicide of 2014.

KTVU stated that a heated argument just outside the Fairmont hotel in downtown San José ended with the stabbing murder of one individual. Police Sargent Heather Randol said that police officers responded to a report of a stabbing in Cesar Chavez Park at about 12:20 am.

The man’s identity has not been released at this time, though some reports have said that he was a homeless man. This news comes days after two homeless people were stabbed in San Francisco. According to The Inquisitr, a man and a woman were stabbed near San Francisco’s Embarcadero Monday morning.

The report stated that officers responded to the incident at The Embarcadero between Piers 5 and 7 and the other at Sacramento and Drumm streets around 4:15 am. Police say that a the woman was found stabbed between Piers 5 and 7, near Coqueta Restaurant and a man was seen stumbling along with a friend to Sacramento and Drumm streets.

San Francisco Police Sargent, Keith Pasquinzo, told the public that both individuals had been transported to the San Francisco General Hospital. Pasquinzo did remark on the conditions of the two at the time saying that “the woman is in stable condition with two stab wounds—one to the back and one to the leg. And the male is critical with a stab wound to the chest,” He continued on saying that “The man was coughing up blood as the ambulance transported him the hospital.”

In San José, police say that the unidentified man was found in the 100 block of South Market Street, and reportedly was suffering from at least one stab wound. According to KTVU, Randol did say that the man looked to be in his late 30s or early 40s and is believed to be from the area. Some speculated as to whether he was staying at the hotel, but police are now saying that he was not.

Police are investigating the incident, though at the moment they have very little to go on. Officials do have plans to collect and review surveillance videos from the Fairmont and other nearby businesses to see if the stabbing may have been caught on tape. There are currently no suspects in the San José stabbing murder, and police say they will not release the man’s identity until the Santa Clara County Coroner’s Office notifies his family.
