Windows 7 Skydrive Feature display

Microsoft took some time on Tuesday to show off more new features for their upcoming Windows Phone 7 update (Mango). The new features, found on the company’s SkyDrive program is billed as a “competitive option” versus Apple’s iCloud and will allow users to automatically upload photos to Microsoft’s cloud storage environment with several other added options.

Once uploaded users can access their photos from the web and from a specialized “pictures hub” that is built into the Mango system.

Users of Mango will also have expanded options including the ability to upload videos and share photos through e-mail, text and IM.

Also included with the update will be document browsing based on the users that have been configured with the users SkyDrive accounts.

The new features will be available this fall when the OS update is released.
