CM Punk Wanted Back By WWE Fans, Vince McMahon May Be Forced To Respond

CM Punk may be gone from the WWE, but he is far from forgotten.

On Monday Night Raw, the first WWE event since word got out that CM Punk was leaving the league, fans made it well known that they want the controversial superstar back.

Throughout the night fans chanted “CM Punk! CM Punk! CM Punk!” Even Daniel Bryan, the biggest face of the WWE at the moment, heard the chants throughout his match.

It’s still unclear exactly what happened between CM Punk and the WWE. Reports from last week said that the wrestler decided to quit just weeks ahead of the WWE’s headline event, Wrestlemania 30. CM Punk reportedly told WWE leadership to take him off the schedule for future events, and within a day all of Punk’s appearances were scrubbed from the WWE website.

Now, just one week after the news got out, WWE fans let it be known that they are solidly in CM Punk’s corner. Many WWE followers think the growing sentiment may force the league, and chairman Vince McMahon, to make amends with whatever drove CM Punk away in the first place.

“But WWE may not be willing to tolerate this for much longer. The CM Punk chants will only continue,” noted the WWE blog Powerbomb Post. “The company is without one of its top stars. What will they try to do to bring him back? That’s for Vince McMahon, who is reportedly handling the issue himself, to decide. But they need to try harder to bring him back, even if it means giving him extended breaks to heal up from time to time.”

Of course, there are those who believe the CM Punk story is exactly that — a storyline. The wrestler has been involved in some past events that straddled the line between reality and script, including a controversial speech in 2011 where he expressed his disillusionment with WWE.

With Wrestlemania 30 now just a few months away, the CM Punk story will likely come to some kind of conclusion sooner rather than later.
