Olive Garden Employee Admits To Planning The Kidnap Of Teenage Coworker

An Olive Garden employee in Memphis Tennessee admit to police that he had planned to kidnap and rape his teenage coworker. According to police, Jonathan Cox worked at the Olive Garden on Winchester Road.

According to WMC-TV, Cox sat outside the restaurant Sunday morning waiting for his 18-year-old coworker who was scheduled to arrive at work sometime around 8:50 am. Police say he had duct tape and rope in his car and had planned to kidnap the young hostess.

Police reports stated that as the 18-year-old tried to head into work, Cox walked up behind her, covered her mouth and attempted to drag her back to his car. The girl was able to break free from Cox and then ran across the street and immediately called her mother.

Olive Garden recently made news after a woman allegedly was forced to have a Caesarian section after eating at the restaurant chain. According to an earlier report by The Inquisitr, a pregnant Oregon woman recently sued the Olive Garden restaurant chain after a norovirus infection she allegedly contracted from the restaurant forced her to have the C-section.

According to the report, Miranda Fischer and 12 relatives had lunch at Lancaster Mall in Salem in January of 2013. Two days later, the pregnant woman and six of her fellow diners came down with a norovirus infection, which allegedly forced her to have a C-section instead of allowing her to go through a natural childbirth.

“Attorney Thomas Patton said Fischer suffered from nausea, dehydration, and nausea while preparing to give birth. Although doctors wanted to allow the woman to have a natural birth, she was simply too dehydrated. That’s when doctors decided to perform a C-section.”

In the case of the Memphis Olive Garden employee, when questioned about his intentions, Cox, 29, admit to police that he had been planning the abduction for the past six months according to WREG news.

Neighbors told police and news reporters that Cox seemed to be a “strange” man. One neighbor, who asked to remain unidentified said that they new Cox had issues. When asked how they knew, the neighbor replied with:

“He acted weird. He would hang his head down and he wouldn`t speak. Just strange, really strange.”

After the attempted abduction and rape, police reportedly swarmed Cox’s home. Once in custody, Cox reportedly waved his rights and admitted to plotting the kidnapping and his intentions afterwards. The Olive Garden employee is currently being held at the Shelby County Jail and his bond was set at $100,000.
