San Francisco Police Investigating Double Stabbing

San Francisco police are investigating a double stabbing that took place near San Francisco’s Embarcadero early Monday morning.

According to KTVU, police officers responded to the incident at The Embarcadero between Piers 5 and 7 and the other at Sacramento and Drumm streets around 4:15 am. CBS San Francisco Bay Area continued on to report that the two individuals who were stabbed, a man and a women, both were homeless.

Police say that because of the early morning hours, there aren’t too many witnesses to help them in their investigation. KTVU spoke with a fishermen who was in the area during the time of the stabbing.

“They described the suspect as possibly a Hispanic man who was about six feet tall. They said the suspect appeared to have been drinking and had brandished a knife during an earlier confrontation with people in the same area.”

In an earlier report by The Inquisitr, a stabbing in San José claimed the life of a 22-year-old San José State University student. Police reportedly took twin brothers, Duc Tong, 18, and his brother Anh, 18, into custody in the fatal stabbing. According to the report, witnesses had trouble telling the twins apart, so they couldn’t be sure which one actually stabbed 22-year-old Richard Phan.

“Both Tong brothers, who live in San José, were being held without bail in Santa Clara County Jail since Monday (January 27). But on Wednesday, the San José police made up their minds and charged Duc Tong with murder with a felony enhancement, meaning he used a knife to kill Phan.”

Police investigating the double stabbing in San Francisco say that a the woman was found stabbed between Piers 5 and 7, near Coqueta Restaurant. The man who was stabbed was seen stumbling along with a friend to Sacramento and Drumm streets according to CBS San Francisco Bay Area. Police say a pile of bloody clothes were found in front of the Ann Taylor store at Embarcadero 3 Center.

San Francisco Police Sargent Keith Pasquinzo told the public that both the homeless man and woman had been transported to San Francisco General Hospital. Pasquinzo did remark on the conditions of the two.

“The woman is in stable condition with two stab wounds—one to the back and one to the leg. And the male is critical with a stab wound to the chest,” he said. “The man was coughing up blood as the ambulance transported him the hospital.”

Both victims were reportedly being uncooperative with police during questioning, and with so few witnesses to the attacks, Police don’t have much to go on at this point. Police have said they will continue their investigation and Pasquinzo said that they are hopeful that there may be security footage to help in their search. As of now, only one suspect is being sought in the San Francisco double stabbing.
