Seinfeld Reunion: Jerry And George Back Together For Super Bowl Commercial

The Seinfeld reunion finally came to pass at the Super Bowl, with a commercial chronicling what Jerry and George are up to more than 15 years after the sitcom went off the air.

In a commercial airing at halftime of the Super Bowl, Jerry and George met up in their favorite coffee shop to discuss their plans for the Big Game. George was upset because he hadn’t gotten any invites, while Jerry was invited to a swanky party at the Wasserman’s place.

Jerry pointed out that George wore out his welcome at the last Wasserman party, cheering too loudly for the New York Giants before “availing himself” of the master bathroom at the Super Bowl two years before.

As the commercial ended, the pair were visited by Newman, who himself was headed to the Wasserman Super Bowl party.

The Seinfeld reunion commercial wasn’t entirely a surprise to fans, as Jerry had been dropping hints about a “special project.”

Earlier this month Jerry Seinfeld and Jason Alexander were also spotted leaving Tom’s Restaurant in Manhattan, which was the setting for Monk’s coffee shop in Seinfeld.

When asked about the project in an interview this week, Seinfeld was a little less than clear. He told New York City sports radio station WFAN that the project wasn’t an episode of his Crackle series Comedians In Cars Getting Coffee, instead calling it a “a secret project” that will air “very very soon.”

“I gave you more now than I’ve given anyone,” Seinfeld said. “I told you what it isn’t. And then I also told you that it isn’t not that, either.”

In the end, the Seinfeld reunion commercial at the Super Bowl was an ad for the show, so technically Jerry Seinfeld wasn’t lying when he said it wasn’t an episode.
