Kim Kardashian grew up with jet black hair, and when your whole occupation is basically to be famous, these little details make a difference. It’s not as if there’s a big new Kim Kardashian movie coming out, or she’s taking over the role of Velma in Chicago on Broadway — or frankly, she has anything else going on. Her only claim to fame is fame itself.
What Kim Kardashian offers the world is her looks, and a daily account of her comings-and-goings. And with an estimated net worth of $40 million, there are obviously a lot of people willing to pay good money for those details.
So in the Kim Kardashian world, it was a big event when, last September, after losing much of the weight gained during her pregnancy, she suddenly debuted an entirely new look: Kim Kardashian — blonde.
At the time, her colorist, George Papanikolas of L.A.’s Andy LeCompte salon, said that going blonde was what Kim Kardashian “wanted to do for a long time.”
“I’ve been coloring her hair for a year, and she’s wanted to go blonder since the day we met,” Papanikolas said, quoted by E! Online.
Well, maybe so, but now it seems that the reality TV icon has been there and done that after just a few months.
As you can see, the 33-year-old Kim Kardashian has not returned to the full, jet black look. She’s got more of a dark, chestnut brown with a little blonde highlight thing going on.
She posted the Instagram after she was spotted with sisters Khloe, 29, and 17-year-old Kylie stopping in to a high-end beauty supply store in the San Fernando Valley.
Kim Kardashian must have been plotting this big revelation, because on Thursday she reminded her fans what her black ‘do — and the rest of her — used to look like in her younger days, posting a “throwback” bikini snap on her Instagram.
Kim Kardashian went blonde once before, in 2009 after breaking off her relationship with NFL running back Reggie Bush.
