One Direction’s Liam Payne is all smiles after successfully passing his driving test. Liam now can now successfully navigate the streets of his hometown Wolverhampton, West Midlands, England behind the wheel of a car instead of just as its passenger.
A picture of the One Direction heartthrob was shared on Twitter yesterday with a jubilant Payne holding his certificate proudly. The certificate reads: “Practical Driving Test Pass Certificate” with Liam holding it close to his smiling face.
Payne has more than just his new found driving status to be celebrating these days. According to Liam’s Twitter feed, One Direction has also released a new music video for the single Midnight Memories, the self-titled single off their third, chart-topping, record breaking album. According to a report on the Daily Mail, the video is a culmination of several days of filming around the streets of London and offers fans a different perspective on them as a band:
“Directioners will certainly find the video more than appealing,” the article states. “The boys take the viewers with them on a night out.”
In the days leading up to the release of the video, Liam took to Twitter to start ramping up excitement for Midnight Memories. “Midnight Memories is cominnnnnggggg,” was tweeted on January 29th, with a link to a teaser video on YouTube. This was then followed up with the obligatory announcement on January 31st by Payne as well, seen here in this tweet:

It hasn’t been all smiles for Liam Payne recently however. The One Direction star stirred up some controversy when he threw his support behind Duck Dynasty star Willie Robertson. The singer was lambasted for appearing to support homophobic comments made by the show’s patriarch. But since then, any traces of backlash have been replaced with excitement for his new video and now with his ability to tear up the streets of London…at or below the speed limit.
