Austin Mahone Didn’t Know He Was Dating Selena Gomez – Because They’re Not!

The fact that Austin Mahone is dating Selena Gomez was shocking news—for Austin Mahone.

In fact, E! says no one was more surprised to hear about his alleged relationship with Gomez than Mahone himself, right before dismissing the notion.

“No definitely not,” he told E! News when asked about the rumored love-link. “We’re just close friends. She’s awesome. Very talented, sweet girl.”

Oh to be 17-years-old and allegedly linked to Selena Gomez. His word of choice to describe the idea: “crazy.”

“Like I just woke up and they’re like, ‘Oh yeah by the way they say you’re dating Selena Gomez..’ Like what?! That’s the most random thing ever.”

And improbable, too, if you’re the kind to believe Selena’s miserable over the recent news of ex-boy toy Justin Bieber’s legal woes. OK, so the headline from EntertainmentWise says “Selena Gomez Looks Miserable,” the implication is still there. The story tells of Gomez’s day out after Bieber was turned himself in to police custody the night before in Toronto on an assault charge dating back to late December, totally unrelated to the whole DUI drag racing thing.

While Bieber faced another difficult day, Selena was spotted on a lunch date with her mum in California. As the 21-year-old emerged from the resturant, she failed to raise a smile, hurrying to her car. [sic]

It’s not at all possible that she simply wasn’t in the mood to have some random paparazzo snapping her pic when she’s trying to live her life, right?

Aside: doesn’t that gives the Biebs two mug shots in the span of a week? Does his new one from Canada look as awesome as his first one?

And we’re back. Of course, not everyone thinks the Gomez-Mahone thing is entirely Kosher. HollywoodLife contends that “Selena Gomez Is Flirting With Other Guys To Make Justin Bieber Jealous.”

Kudos on the direct headline. No ambiguity there. But how much fact is there? PopSugar reports that Selena’s working on clearing her head with her music, captioning social media photos from the studio with the word “therapy.”

In the March issue of Seventeen, Gomez goes into detail about her romantic complications.

I haven’t found someone yet who could understand my lifestyle, support it, love me through it, and not be threatened by it. It’s hard.

She admitted she fears she might intimidate some guys with her ambitions and energy but maintained that’s the only way she knows how to be.

Would you find Selena Gomez intimidating?
