Tetris Coming to Nintendo 3DS

At this point, Tetris hardly needs any introduction. The simple and beloved puzzle game has been around for nearly thirty years now and has seen an astonishing amount of re-releases. If you have even a modicum of interest in gaming, you’ve played it at least once. If The Tetris Company gets their way, it looks like you’ll soon be playing it again. On your Nintendo 3DS.

Being developed by Hudson Soft, the new Tetris title will be shown at this year’s E3, only a few short days away. The announcement didn’t come along with any details as to what, if anything, has changed or improved in the new title, but they were kind enough to share a release window, at least: this October. We’ll have to wait until E3 to find out anything beyond that.

In related news, The Tetris Company revealed plans to release a whole slew of licensed products including puzzles, Halloween costumes, candy, watches and even Tetris-themed furniture.

Nope, you didn’t read that wrong. I just wrote “Tetris-themed furniture.”
