NeNe Leakes Opens Up To Dr. Oz About Her Blood Clot Scare

NeNe Leakes and Dr. Oz? Not two people you would necessarily put together in a room. Nevertheless, the Real Housewives of Atlanta star spoke to America’s favorite doctor on his show about the blood clot scare she had back in 2013.

The Inquisitr reported on November 19, 2013 about Leakes’ blood clot scare:

NeNe Leakes has been rushed to hospital with what appears to be blood clots on her lungs. She said soon after she was treated in the hospital:

“I’m thankful to be alive as the doctor advised me that most people don’t recognize the symptoms of blood clots and don’t go to the doctor and that’s when the big problems start happening. Contrary to published reports I did not have a heart attack.”

Thankfully, she is feeling a whole lot better now, and was thrilled to have the opportunity to talk to Dr. Oz about what she went through at the back end of last year. NeNe shared that she is doing her part to make sure that other woman are able to spot similar symptoms and react accordingly.

She described to Dr. Oz what happened at the time, explaining: “I just had this pain. It got worse and worse, and finally I said, ‘I have to go to the emergency room.'”

Soon after her arrival NeNe Leakes discovered that the pain she was feeling came from multiple blood clots and a partially collapsed lung. Dr. Oz said that NeNe was lucky to be alive after such an incident confirming that she did the right thing by immediately seeking medical assistance.
