Melissa Gilbert Talks Making Out With Tom Cruise, Punching Another Celeb

Melissa Gilbert didn’t have a problem telling it like it is, during a recent TV appearance confirming she dated Tom Cruise back in the day and saying how she would just love to punch a fellow celeb “in the nose.”

The former Little House In The Prairie star is all grown up and spilling the beans about her life as a child star and her love life.

While sitting for a chat with Andy Cohen’s Bravo show Watch What Happens Live on Wednesday, Melissa Gilbert said about her romance with Tom Cruise:

“When I dated him, he was Tom Mapother still,” the 49-year-old recalled of dating 51-year-old Cruise when she was 16 or 17. “He had just moved to Los Angeles.”

“I did not have sex with him. We made out, but honestly, there was no sex. He was a struggling actor and I was working, I actually bought him his first set of dishes.”

The former child star also revealed that 90210 star Shannen Doherty and her first husband Bo Brinkman had a one night stand and she would “just punch her in the nose” if she ran into Doherty — who briefly starred in Little House In The Prairie — again.

Melissa Gilbert was apparently bent on coming clean with all her celebrity beefs and then moved on to former co-star Melissa Sue Anderson, who played Gilbert’s sister Mary for nine-years, telling host Andy Cohen:

” (Anderson) was hateful, horrid, mean, terrible, mean, difficult. She hated me. She knocked me off the wagon when I was nine.”

Melissa Gilbert also revealed that her former fiancé, Rob Lowe only had one request of her:

“He asked me to take out the word ‘pretty’ when I referred to him,” she said, of her 2010 book, Prairie Tale. “That was it…. ‘Just could you do one thing? Could you take out the word “pretty”? I hate it when people call me pretty.'”

Melissa Gilbert gained notoriety when she starred in the long-running television series Little House In The Prairie between 1974 and 1983, playing the adorable daughter of Charles Ingalls (Michael Landon) and Caroline Quiner Ingalls (Karen Grassle), author Laura Ingalls Wilder.

Nowadays, Gilbert is enjoying a quiet life with new husband, actor Timothy Busfield — her third husband — who she married last April.

The couple moved out of Hollywood to Michigan and a restored old Victorian house, her own “little house in the prairie.” Speaking to >Fox 411 Melissa Gilbert said:

“I live in a small town in Michigan. I think the population is about 9,000. It’s very rural. I live downtown in a restored Victorian house that was built in 1890. We moved in August and it has been amazing.”

“(It’s) Totally different. Here’s one of the things I noticed almost right away. When you walk into a restaurant everybody doesn’t turn around to see who just came in. That’s an amazing difference. For the first few weeks it was a bit like living in an exhibition in “Jurassic Park” because they had never seen anything like us here. People would drive by really slow looking at the house. It felt like were the T-Rexes. It’s kind of evened out now.

Melissa Gilbert is also an author and published her children’s book Daisy and Josephine on Tuesday.
